At Whitehills Dental Practice, we utilise the latest technology to enhance your dental experience. We strive to keep you comfortable and work as efficiently as possible, improving your oral health and getting you back to your busy life.
Please take a look at the technologies we offer and how they can streamline your treatment at our dental clinic.

Intraoral Camera
This valuable tool, which looks like a pen, takes high-resolution images and footage of the inside of your mouth. This footage is shown in real time on a monitor, allowing us to examine your mouth and help you visualise any dental concerns. We use intraoral cameras for early detection, treatment planning and patient education.

Digital Impressions/intra-oral scans
Digital impressions make it possible to generate a digital model of your teeth and gums. Using an intraoral scanner, we can capture detailed images of your mouth. This gives us a precise, 3-D replica of your mouth without traditional, messy impressions. We use these impressions to fabricate dental restorations such as crowns, bridges and dentures.

TV in Treatment Rooms
We provide televisions in each treatment room, along with Netflix & Amazon Prime, so you can watch your favourite show (or movie) while we are busy restoring your oral health.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous oxide, or 'laughing gas', is used to calm our anxious patients. It manages dental anxiety so you can get the dental care you need. You’ll inhale a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen through a mask and instantly feel relaxed. You can expect to be awake during your treatment, and the effects wear off immediately after treatment.

Laser Whitening
Our laser whitening tool uses an LED light to activate the whitening gel and break down tooth stains and discolouration; it’s an effective way to provide dramatic whitening results in just one visit to our dental clinic. Laser whitening can be effective on surface and intrinsic stains, making it a popular cosmetic option for many patients.

CBCT Cone Beam Technology
We use CBCT, or Cone Beam Computed Tomography, to take 3-D images of your teeth and jawbones. This dental imaging technology uses a cone-shaped x-ray to create digital images that allow us to plan dental procedures. These x-rays help us create precise treatment plans for dental implants, root canal therapy and extractions.

Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic x-rays give us a comprehensive view of your mouth and jaw; in a single image, we can see your upper and lower teeth, jaw joints, nerves, supporting bone and sinuses. We use panoramic x-rays to evaluate your oral health, identify hidden tooth decay, detect bone loss and plan for extractions and other treatments.

Digital X-Rays and Sensors
When you need a dental x-ray, we place electronic sensors into your mouth. The x-ray beam is sent through your teeth and into the sensor, and then these sensors are scanned through the sensor scanner, giving us a clear image on the computer screen. We can then print the image or save it to our system.

Rotary Endodontics
This electrically-powered instrument helps us clean and shape the root canals of your tooth. We use rotary endodontics to perform root canal therapy, making it faster and more efficient than traditional methods. With this advanced technique, there is less noise and discomfort, making your root canal treatment as pleasant as possible.

Digital Records
With digital records, we can electronically store detailed patient information, including x-rays, treatment history, treatment plans and clinical notes. We can access dental records at the touch of a button, increasing efficiency and accuracy. If your insurance company or another doctor needs to see your records, we can share that information with them.
